Where to Stay in Khao Sok

Jungle resorts, riverside stays, treehouses and mountain retreats around Khao Sok.

WHERE TO BASE YOURSELF

Start with location, not the hotel.

Before comparing rooms, pools or treehouses, decide how close you want to be to Khao Sok Village. Staying near the park entrance makes it easier to walk to restaurants and local services, while properties further out generally offer more space and a stronger sense of being surrounded by the landscape.

KHLONG SOK VILLAGE

The easiest base for most first-time visitors.

Khlong Sok is the small visitor area leading towards Khao Sok National Park headquarters. Staying here puts restaurants, cafés, tour services and many accommodation options within easy reach, with the park entrance nearby.

It is a practical choice if you prefer being able to walk out for dinner or organise activities without depending on a vehicle for every short journey.

BEST FOR :

First visits · Easy access · Restaurants · Travellers without a car

! KEEP IN MIND:

Not every property described as being “in Khao Sok” is within comfortable walking distance of the village or park entrance. Check the exact location before booking.

Some resorts sit away from the main village, along Route 401 or deeper within the surrounding countryside. These properties can offer larger grounds, quieter surroundings and impressive views of the limestone landscape.

FURTHER OUT

More space, less on your doorstep.

Some resorts sit away from the main village, along Route 401 or deeper within the surrounding countryside. These properties can offer larger grounds, quieter surroundings and impressive views of the limestone landscape.

The trade-off is convenience. Restaurants and the park entrance may no longer be within walking distance, so check whether the property provides transfers or whether you will need transport during your stay.

BEST FOR :

Quiet stays · Mountain views · Larger resorts · Travellers with arranged transport

! KEEP IN MIND:

A beautiful remote setting can mean fewer places to eat or explore on foot. Check what is available at the resort and how transfers are handled before you book.

Good to Know

Khao Sok Village and Cheow Lan Lake are not the same accommodation area. The lake is reached from Ratchaprapha Pier, more than an hour by road from the main Khao Sok park entrance. If you are planning an overnight stay on the lake, treat it as a separate part of your itinerary rather than choosing it as an alternative hotel location.
