Day 1: Arrival and Initial Exploration

• Morning:

  • Meet at the designated point and travel to Khao Sok National Park.

  • Check-in at the accommodation.

• Afternoon:

  • Begin with a short hike in the area near the accommodation.

  • Explore common local birds such as:

    • Black-crested Bulbul - A small bird with yellow feathers and a distinctive black crest.

    • Golden-cheeked Sunbird - A small, colorful bird with a long, slender beak for nectar feeding.

• Evening:

  • Return to the accommodation for dinner and rest.

  • An introductory meeting to discuss the birds expected to be seen the following day.

Day 2: Adventure at Cheow Lan Lake

• Morning:

  • Breakfast at the accommodation.

  • Travel to Cheow Lan Lake.

  • Take a boat ride to enjoy the lake and limestone mountains.

  • Spot birds such as:

    • Great Hornbill - A large hornbill with a prominent casque on its head.

    • Racket-tailed Drongo - A black bird with a long, forked tail and the ability to mimic other bird sounds.

• Afternoon:

  • Visit the Coral Cave and explore the area.

  • Observe birds around the cave and lake, such as:

    • Blue-winged Pitta - A brightly colored bird with blue and yellow feathers.

    • Stork-billed Kingfisher - A large kingfisher with a bright red beak and light brown feathers.

• Evening:

  • Return to the accommodation for dinner.

  • Engage in a small activity such as night bird listening.
     

Day 3:Klong Ka Birding

• Morning:

  • Breakfast at the accommodation.

  • Hike a nature trail in the park with a knowledgeable bird-watching guide.

  • Learn about and observe birds on the trail, such as:

    • White-rumped Shama - A small bird with a melodious song and black and white plumage.

    • Scarlet Minivet - A bird with striking red and black feathers.

• Afternoon:  
  Visit the  Khlong Ka Peat Swamp in Khao Sok National Park is home to a variety of bird species, many of which are found exclusively in peat swamp forests. Some of the notable birds found in Khlong Ka include:
  
  Gurney's Pitta: This rare and critically endangered bird is often found in highly humid peat swamp forests.
  
  Dollarbird: Known for its beautiful colors, this bird can be found in peat swamps and wetland areas.
  
  Hornbills: Several species of hornbills can be spotted in this area, especially those that inhabit tropical rainforests
  
  Chinese Pond Heron: This bird is commonly found in wetland areas and often feeds around water sources in the peat swamp.
  
  The diverse ecosystem of Khlong Ka Peat Swamp provides a suitable habitat for many bird species.
   

• Evening:

  • Return to the accommodation for dinner.

  • Engage in a small activity such as night bird listening.
    
     

Day 4: Nature Trail Exploration and Conclusion

• Breakfast at the accommodation.

• Morning: Birding

• Lunch

• check out, and prepare for the journey back.

• Conclude the trip with a summary and sharing of experiences.​​

• The program may be adjusted based on weather conditions and travel convenience.

• Bring binoculars, a camera, and appropriate clothing for hiking.
