Conditions can change with rainfall, water levels and seasonal park access, so choosing the right trail depends on where you are staying and how active you want the experience to be.
Which Hike Is Right for You?
Khao Sok offers very different hiking experiences, from rainforest walks and waterfall trails to viewpoints, caves and more remote forest routes. Compare the character of each trail before choosing your experience.
Trail access and conditions can change with rainfall, water levels and National Park regulations. Some routes are seasonal and may be unavailable when conditions are considered unsafe.
Hiking Conditions & Seasons
Trail conditions in Khao Sok can change significantly throughout the year. Rainfall affects streams, forest paths, cave access and water levels, while some routes may be temporarily restricted by National Park authorities when conditions are unsafe.
The wetter months bring a greener rainforest, stronger streams and a different atmosphere on the trails, but they can also make paths muddy and more demanding. During drier periods, many routes are easier to walk, although conditions still vary from trail to trail.
Nam Talu Cave requires particular attention to weather and water conditions because sections of the route pass through flowing water inside the cave. Access should always follow current National Park and guide instructions.
DRYER CONDITIONS
Generally easier trail conditions, although heat and individual route conditions still need to be considered.
WETTER CONDITIONS
Greener forest and stronger streams, with muddier trails and a greater chance of route changes.
SAFETY FIRST
Weather, water levels and National Park restrictions always take priority over the planned route.
