Waterfalls to Explore in Khao Sok
Khao Sok’s waterfalls are closely connected to the rainforest and seasonal rainfall. Some are reached by relatively short forest walks, while others form part of longer hiking routes. Water levels, trail conditions and access can change throughout the year, making each visit dependent on current conditions.
Which Waterfall Should You Visit?
Khao Sok’s waterfalls offer very different experiences. Some are easy to reach, while others form part of longer rainforest walks. Compare the setting and type of experience before deciding where to go.
Water flow, trail conditions and access can change with rainfall and National Park regulations. Not every waterfall or trail is accessible under all conditions.
Waterfalls & the Seasons
Khao Sok’s waterfalls are shaped by rainfall, so the experience can look very different throughout the year. During wetter periods, streams and waterfalls generally carry more water and the surrounding rainforest becomes especially lush. Trails, however, can also become muddier and more slippery.
During drier periods, forest trails may be easier to walk, but some waterfalls and smaller cascades can have noticeably less water. Conditions vary from year to year, so photographs should never be treated as a guarantee of what a waterfall will look like on a particular day.
CURRENT CONDITIONS
Rainfall, trail safety and National Park restrictions should always take priority when deciding which waterfall to visit.
WETTER CONDITIONS
Stronger water flow and lush rainforest, with muddier trails and rapidly changing stream conditions.
DRIER CONDITIONS
Generally easier walking conditions, but some waterfalls may have reduced water flow.

Khao Sok’s waterfalls are spread across different parts of the national park. Most of the waterfalls in this guide are associated with the rainforest trails around the Khao Sok area, while others are reached as part of journeys deeper into the Cheow Lan Lake landscape.
