About Mae Yai Waterfall
Mae Yai Waterfall is one of the more accessible waterfalls in the Khao Sok area. Located close to the main road near Khao Sok National Park, it offers visitors a chance to see a rainforest waterfall without undertaking a long trek.
What to Expect
The character of Mae Yai changes with rainfall. During wetter periods, the waterfall can carry considerably more water, while drier conditions may produce a gentler flow.
Visiting Conditions
Rocks around waterfalls can be wet and slippery, particularly after rain. Visitors should take care around the water and follow any current National Park instructions or access restrictions.
Cool Waters and Seasonal Colors
Water flows here year-round, but from October to December, after the rainy season, the waterfall swells with fresh energy. The damp rock face glistens with vivid green moss, while the surrounding forest begins to shift in color — a living postcard framed by the harmony of water and woodland.
Nature Within Everyone’s Reach
One of the waterfall’s greatest charms is that it’s accessible to all ages. No long hikes or steep climbs — children and elderly travelers can enjoy it safely, making Mae Yai Waterfall a local favorite to recommend.
