Our role is not simply to take you from one place to another. It is to help you experience Khao Sok in a way that makes sense for the place, the conditions, and the time you have here.

Our Story

Built here, one journey at a time.

Khao Sok Travel grew from years of working directly with travellers in Khao Sok — guiding, arranging boats and transfers, solving problems on the ground, and learning what makes a journey here work well.

Over time, that experience became something more: a local team built around the people we trust — guides, boat captains, drivers, accommodation partners, and communities across Khao Sok and Cheow Lan Lake.

Today, we still work the same way. We stay close to the operation, know the people behind each journey, and design our trips from what we see and learn here every day.

Boat Operations Manager

King has spent more than 15 years working with private boat operations on Cheow Lan Lake. He coordinates our lake team, boat captains and day-to-day logistics, making sure each journey connects smoothly from arrival at the pier to the return transfer.

His team is on the ground to receive guests when they arrive, coordinate with the boats, and meet them again at the end of the lake journey before escorting them to their onward vehicle.

Born and raised in Khao Sok, Blu has spent more than 15 years guiding visitors through one of the world's oldest rainforests.

Specializing in wildlife tracking, rainforest ecology, and night safaris, he has an exceptional ability to locate animals that most visitors would never notice—from sleeping snakes and tiny frogs to hornbills, gibbons, and nocturnal mammals.

His calm personality, deep local knowledge, and commitment to guest safety have made him one of the most trusted guides in Khao Sok.

James

Jungle & Wildlife Guide

James grew up surrounded by the forests of Khao Sok and learned the jungle from an early age alongside his father, a former national park ranger and experienced local guide.

Today he leads trekking adventures through remote rainforest trails, sharing not only wildlife encounters but also stories about medicinal plants, local traditions, and the fragile ecosystem that makes Khao Sok unique.

Guests appreciate his enthusiasm, patience, and genuine passion for nature.

Choke is known for his friendly personality and outstanding ability to make guests feel comfortable in the rainforest.

With years of guiding experience, he specializes in jungle trekking, hidden waterfalls, and nature interpretation, helping visitors discover the rainforest through local stories, wildlife observations, and practical survival knowledge.

Every guide on our team is locally based, highly experienced, and passionate about sharing the natural wonders of Khao Sok. Together, they have guided thousands of guests from around the world while promoting responsible and sustainable tourism.

More than 35 years of travel, publishing and storytelling.

For more than 35 years, my work has taken me through journalism, publishing, photography and travel. I spent much of that time documenting places, meeting people and learning how to understand a destination beyond what appears on the surface.

Khao Sok Travel grew from that same approach. Rather than simply selling trips, I wanted to build a local operation around people who know Khao Sok and Cheow Lan Lake firsthand — and use that knowledge to create journeys that make sense for the place.tinually learning from what happens on the ground.

From Publishing to Khao Sok

My career began in journalism and later expanded into magazine publishing, editorial direction, photography and travel writing. Over the years, I worked across print and digital media, including more than 40 published magazines and tourism publications.

That background still shapes how we work today. Research matters. Details matter. Knowing a place before writing about it matters — and the same is true when designing a journey.

At Khao Sok Travel, that means staying close to the place itself: working with our guides, boat teams and local partners, understanding how conditions change, and continually learning from what happens on the ground.
