How difficult is the jungle camping trip?

This is a physically demanding two-day trek covering approximately 20 km in total. A good level of fitness is required, and you should be comfortable walking for several hours on natural forest trails.

What are the trails like?

Expect uneven forest trails, roots, rocks, stream crossings and muddy or slippery sections. Conditions can be more challenging after rain.

You’ll sleep in a basic tent at a campsite in the rainforest. This is real jungle camping with no hotel-style facilities.

Is there a toilet at the campsite?

There is no standard bathroom or toilet at the campsite. Toilet arrangements are basic and in the forest. Your guide will show you the appropriate area and explain what to do.

Do I need to carry camping equipment?

Yes. Camping equipment and supplies are shared among the group. You should be prepared to help carry some of the equipment, as well as your own personal belongings.

Do I need previous trekking or camping experience?

Previous camping experience is not required, but you should be fit enough for two days of trekking and comfortable with basic conditions in the rainforest.

What happens if it rains?

Rain is common in Khao Sok and the trip can still operate in wet conditions. Your guide may change the route, campsite or schedule depending on weather, trail and river conditions.

Will we see wildlife?

Wildlife may be seen or heard during the trek and overnight at camp, but sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Are there insects at the campsite?

Yes. You are camping inside a tropical rainforest, so insects and other small forest animals are a normal part of the experience. Bring insect repellent and follow your guide’s advice at camp.

Is there mobile phone signal in the jungle?

Signal can be weak or unavailable along parts of the route and at the campsite.

Can children join this trip?

Because of the walking distance, terrain and basic overnight conditions, suitability for children should be checked with us before booking.

Bring lightweight quick-dry clothing, proper trekking shoes, rain protection, insect repellent, a change of clothes, personal toiletries and medication. Keep your overnight belongings as light as possible.

Jungle Trekking

Trek Deep into Khao Sok

Follow forest trails with your local guide as you make your way deeper into Khao Sok National Park. The route takes you through dense rainforest, bamboo areas, streams and natural forest terrain.

Expect uneven and sometimes slippery trails, especially after rain. Your guide will set the pace, stop for breaks along the way and point out plants, wildlife and signs of animals when spotted.

Your Jungle Camping Journey

Two days trekking through Khao Sok National Park with one night camping in the rainforest.

DAY 1 — Trek into the Rainforest

10:00 AM — Hotel Pick-up
Pick-up from your hotel in the Khao Sok area and meet your local jungle guide.

Start the Trek
Enter Khao Sok National Park and begin trekking deeper into the rainforest. The trail includes uneven ground, stream crossings and natural forest terrain.

Than Sawan Waterfall
Continue to Than Sawan Waterfall and stop for a break before heading further into the jungle.

Lunch in the Jungle
Stop for a simple lunch during the trek.

Set Up Camp

Arrive at the campsite and prepare your overnight setup with your guide. Hammocks are normally used, while tents may be possible during the dry season when conditions allow.

Dinner at Camp
Prepare and eat dinner at the campsite before spending the night in the rainforest.

Overnight — Basic Jungle Camping

Sleep in a hammock at a basic campsite in the rainforest. There are no standard accommodation or bathroom facilities, and you should expect normal jungle conditions including insects, humidity and forest sounds throughout the night.

DAY 2 — Morning in the Jungle & Return

Morning at Camp
Wake up in the rainforest and have breakfast at the campsite.

Pack Up & Continue Trekking
Pack up camp and begin the return trek through Khao Sok National Park.

Lunch
Stop for lunch during the return journey.

Approx. 1:00 PM — Return to Khao Sok
Finish the trek and transfer back to your hotel in the Khao Sok area.
