Great thought has been put into the course layout and routing. The pars 3’s are quite demanding, given their length. The shortest is the 165-yard 6th , a hill-top tee with views over the entire valley and dam, jungle, a pond in front and bunkers behind the green. A dramatic approach through an uphill alley of native trees, the extraordinarily steep 215-yard 16th requires a demanding, well-positioned tee shot to reach the green in one and make par. The 365-yard 1st hole plays down wind and provides fantastic views out over the rest of the course. The 377-yard 12th is unique with play from an elevated tee to a green with hidden bunker long. The 441-yard 4th is the longest par 4 on the course and requires a demanding, well positioned tee shot. The par 5’s are all quite long and challenging, in particular, the 542-yard 7th is the longest hole on the course and requires 3 perfect shots to make par. The tee shot requires a 180 yard carry to clear the river with bunkers hovering in the right. It has no roots or leaves of its own; instead it lives parasitically inside the roots of the liana. It takes nine months to grow from the size of a small button to a giant football (some reach 80cm in diameter). The Rafflesia only blooms for a few days a year, usually during January and February. The genus name "Rafflesia" comes from Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, who was one of the first to discover this flower in Sumatra in 1818. Botanical Characteristics: Rafflesia kerrii is a flowering plant that lacks the usual structures like leaves, stems, or roots. Instead, it consists of a large flower that is red or orange in color, with white mottled patterns on the petal edges. The flower has a diameter of about 50-90 centimeters and can weigh up to 10 kilograms. Rafflesia kerrii is a parasitic plant that relies on nutrients from the vines of the Tetrastigma plant by forming a network of haustoria (parasitic roots) that penetrate the host plant's vascular system. Pollination: Rafflesia kerrii uses a scent similar to rotting flesh to attract flies, which act as pollinators. Blooming Season: Rafflesia kerrii typically blooms during the winter season, from November to February, when the weather is cool and humid, ideal for the growth of this flower. However, the flower blooms for only a few days before it starts to wither. Finding a fully bloomed Rafflesia is challenging and requires a bit of luck. Conservation and Biological Importance: Rafflesia kerrii is a plant of high biological significance due to its rarity and risk of extinction. Its dependence on a single host plant species and specific environmental conditions makes its propagation and conservation difficult. Additionally, habitat destruction from deforestation and unsustainable tourism are major factors contributing to the decline in Rafflesia populations. General Characteristics: Distinctive Features: The Spectacled Langur has a unique appearance with white fur around its eyes, resembling spectacles, which is the origin of its name. Fur: Its fur is generally dark gray or black, with white fur around the mouth and on the belly. Size: An adult Spectacled Langur typically measures about 50-70 centimeters in body length, with a tail that extends about 70-100 centimeters. Weight: An adult weighs approximately 6-7 kilograms. Behavior and Habitat: Behavior: Spectacled Langurs are social animals, usually found in groups ranging from 5 to 20 individuals.
